Agroecology as a means to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals
CNS FAO member and WFSC Education Director Michelle Grant gave the keynote at the "Agroecology as a means to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals" event at FAO in Rome.
In her function as member of the Swiss FAO National Committee (external page CNS FAO), WFSC Education Director Michelle Grant presented a paper on "Agroecology as a means to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals" at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
Michelle's keynote was followed by a panel discussion, where the panelists shared their views on the most important challenges identified in the paper and on the suggested steps forward to use the potential of agroecological approaches. ETH student Riddhi Dutta represented the students' voice in this panel discussion. Riddhi is part of the ETH student group that visited FAO as part of the annual threeday course taking ETH Zurich Master's students to the FAO headquarters in Rome. The course entitled " Food Security - from the Global to the Local Dimension" is offered by the World Food System Center in collaboration with the Sustainable Agroecosystems Group and the FAO.
