Billie started in the role of Research & Outreach Manager at the Center in November 2023. She oversees the coordination of many of the Center’s Research Programs. She also develops and implements outreach events to share and discuss research findings with practitioners, policymakers, and the wider public.
Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Food Science and a Master of Science in Nutrition and Health, both earned at ETH Zurich, where she focused on healthier and more sustainable diets within the context of food systems. Billie specialized further in Food Product and Process Design. She actively contributed to projects at the Laboratory of Sustainable Food Processing (SFP) at ETH Zurich, concentrating on research related to novel proteins and the biorefinery of microalgae.
Prior to joining the Center, Billie worked as the Head of Product at Even GmbH, a company positioned at the intersection of food, innovation, and sustainability. In this role, she was responsible for leading conceptual design, shaping food offerings, and driving product development for plant-based gastronomy concepts. She also spearheaded projects that tackled complex challenges and real-world issues within the expansive landscape of the food industry.
