Course Information

In the course, students explore together how to build sustainable food systems in times of rapid change. Our 2020 summer school will be hosted on the “Gut Rheinau”, one of Switzerland’s largest and oldest organic farms. Participants experience food systems and production first hand, living and working in a sustainable, socially integrative food system. The program immerses all in the fascinating world of food systems through field trips, fieldwork, group case studies, design thinking, guest presentations, role-plays and simulations and creative reflection - all helping to build the knowledge and skills needed to tackle food system challenges. At the end of the program, participants will join the global community of 188 alumni across 54 countries, who offer a network for ongoing exchange.

Testimonials

“The WFSC Summer School has not only provided me with a lot of knowledge and tools to address world food system challenges, but also reinstalled the desire to act.”  Participant, Switzerland Course 2015

“This course provided by the WFSC is an excellent course and by far one of the best I have participated in. The content is diverse and the participants are also diverse in not only where they come from but their area of expertise. The course is intense and challenges your understanding of the food system and allows for sufficient personal reflection on your values, beliefs, and personal goals and contributions to a more sustainable food system.”   Participant, Switzerland Course 2019
