Feeding Scientific Creativity

The Center’s recent workshop brought 20 ETH researchers together to learn about elements of food design as well as ways to cultivate a creative mindset and apply it in their studies and work.

The recent workshop, Feeding Scientific Creativity, was designed to help participants unleash their creative potential, think outside the box, and approach their work with fresh eyes. Drawing inspiration from the concepts of Food Design, the 20 participants explored together the essence of creativity and its transformative power. From generating new ideas to reimagining existing concepts, participants were introduced practical strategies to cultivate a creative mindset and apply it to their research endeavors.

The half-day workshop in June started with an exercise to better understand components of food; all were tasked to slow down and use all their senses.

Billie Maude Hauser then introduced ideas to increase creativity and allowed for time for new ideas to bloom in groups; each team was tasked with creating their own new food product idea for different foodies, be that children or workaholics.

Thanks to all for joining us. We wish you all a colorful summer full of creativity.
