This year marks the beginning of an ambitious 5-year journey for The World Food Systems Network (WFSN). What started as a group of friends staying connected has blossomed into a professional organization that fosters a sustainable and equitable food system. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, WFSN has strengthened its connections, taking small but significant steps toward a substantial global impact.

WFSN has spearheaded projects in Switzerland, the Netherlands, Italy, Colombia, and India, deepening its network with each active member. Together, they are building a global community committed to health, equity, and environmental stewardship. Their mission is to catalyse global transformation through education, collaboration, and innovation, forging connections worldwide—both online and in person.

In June, WFSN had the honor of showcasing its work at the World Public Health Nutrition Congress in London, emphasising the critical role of agroecology in public health nutrition solutions.

Looking Ahead

As WFSN looks to the future, they are poised to host roundtables on critical food system issues, recruit 7 volunteer positions, and make their presence felt at food-related events. They aim to engage with both long-standing and new members for future collaborations. Their expansion plans include establishing a permanent team, forging new partnerships, and amplifying their impact across diverse media platforms.

Five years of exciting continuous growth looks at focusing on expanding the team, partnerships, and membership base, and most importantly, facilitating the transition to a better food system for all.

As the WFSN’s team embarks on this journey, they look forward to growing as an organization and making a lasting impact on the global food system. Stay tuned as they work towards a future of health, equity, and sustainability for all.
