What role does research and innovation have in accelerating the transition to sustainable food systems?

Food Day @ETH 2024 focused on the role of research and innovation in accelerating food systems transformation. Oral presentations from Center funded projects highlighted research on climate-smart agriculture, food technology, and nutrition. The keynote speaker Patrick Honauer shared his thoughts on how local food networks can drive positive change.

All were then welcome to discuss at the networking poster session, which highlighted current research from across the food system.

Program

poster session

All could come and grab a coffee and take a look at all the innovative research going on at ETH Zurich working towards more sustainable food systems. Researchers were on hand to answer questions.

poster session

The Food Day @ETH Networking Poster Session showcased 44 posters displaying ongoing food system research. The session offered guests the chance to interact directly with researchers. The audience selected outstanding posters for awards during the session.

Workshops

Food Day @ETH kicked off with four workshops focused on current food systems topics in the afternoon: (1) Ultra-Processed Foods: Myths, Facts, and Future Role, (2) Reaching Mutual Agreements: Practice the Art of Negotiation, (3) Zukunft des Schweizer Obstbaus: Tradition trifft Innovation (DE), and (4) Gesunde Gewohnheiten, gesunder Planet: Ernährung neu denken (DE).
