Food Day @ETH 2022

The yearly public event brought together a diverse audience from academia, industry, government and international organizations for interactive discussions and workshops on food systems innovation and research.

Food Day @ETH on 11 November 2022 kicked off with workshops in the afternoon, focusing on scientific topics as well as the role of education and communication in building future food systems. The over 200 guests then gathered in the AudiMax for the plenary session. Martijn Sonnevelt, Executive Director of the World Food System Center, greeted all. Center Chair Robert Finger then shared some highlights from 10+ years of work led by the Center.

Vanessa Wood, Vice President Knowledge Transfer and Corporate Relations, spoke to the audeince about collaboration across competence centers at ETH Zurich. Keynote speaker Dominique Burgeon, Director of the FAO Liaison Office with the United Nations Office in Geneva, then came to the microphone to share FAO's research proiorties for change in our future food system. The panel discussion then focused on actions needed to transform the food system.

The networking poster session then took place around the atrium of the ETH main building, with everyone interacting and sharing research focused on food systems. The audience voted for the best posters, with three researchers taking home a prize.
